I am beginning to believe I was not the first one to have my new cell phone number. It's the voice mails that lead me to this conclusion.
1 The first one, I'm quite sure, was intended for the previous owner, or maybe it's part of an aggressive new family plan at Verizon.
One wonders if Miss Manners would approve of the voice mail as the proper medium to convey this exciting news.
2 It's a shame I don't speak Spanish. I took French in high school and I'll be ready to go when the opportunity to tell Pierre my soup is cold comes up. I've included the beginning of the message because it starts off with a fabulous wet hacking cough which I may adapt as my signature greeting.
